The Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans get the Saturday primetime stage for their “win and you’re in” Week 18 showdown, and there’s a bonanza of NFL odds to explore with a playoff spot on the line.
A lot has changed since these teams met in Week 2 when Anthony Richardson was the Indy starter and Dameon Pierce was dominating touches in the Houston backfield. Instead, we’ve got tasty NFL player props for Gardner Minshew and Devin Singletary this weekend.
These teams bring their matching 9-7 records to Lucas Oil Stadium, and I’ve highlighted my favorite NFL picks from the booming props market for January 6.

Week 1 was about as wild as it gets, with shocking upsets (rip to all Bengals backers in survivor pools), unexpected breakouts (looking at you, J.K. Dobbins), and the Giants, Browns, and Jets never failing to disappoint… by being disappointments.
All that craziness led to a 2-3 week for me with my NFL player props, so we’ve got a reasonably low bar to pass for an improvement in Week 2.
My bounce-back week started with some tough luck in TNF, but my NFL picks today provide more optimism in backing a pair of WRs to exploit iffy defenses, a 3DRB to continue getting work in the pass game, and Travon Walker ravaging the Browns’ offense.

Neil Lennon has vowed to shrug off any attempts to discredit a ninth league title in a row for Celtic, after the Scottish Premiership season was abandoned. Celtic led Rangers by 13 points, with eight games remaining to the Ibrox club’s nine and Scotland’s move to curtail the campaign was mired in deep controversy.

“I can’t stop people from trying to put a negative spin on what we were achieving,” Lennon said. “But I don’t think anyone could have not foreseen us winning the league with the way we were playing, the form and consistency we were showing. No one could keep up with us. We just kept applying the pressure week in, week out and…
The total prize money for the Women’s FA Cup will increase to £3m next season with a “disproportionate” amount going into the early rounds.
As reported in the Guardian on Friday, the competition will have an almost tenfold rise on the £428,915 fund available to the 417 teams competing this season.

“A disproportionate amount of this new fund will be invested into the early rounds of the competition,” the Football Association said. “This will ensure those clubs further down the pyramid really feel the benefit.”
The FA Board signed off on the increase last Thursday and it will now begin discussions on ho…
Bukayo Saka has been ruled out of England’s games against Australia and Italy after travelling more than 100 miles to be assessed by Football Association medics. The decision will come as a relief to Arsenal, who were forced to leave the winger out of their victory over Manchester City because of a hamstring injury.
Saka reported at St George’s Park on Monday afternoon and about three and a half hours later the FA said he would be returning to his club. Arsenal’s hope was that he would get that go-ahead to rest during the international break. Mikel Arteta made his feelings on the matter clear after Sunday’s game against City, saying the 22-year-old “was not available to play football at the moment” and would not be fit to represe…
Lexi Thompson will be retiring at the conclusion of the 2024 season, the LPGA Tour announced Tuesday. Thompson, 29, is an 11-time LPGA Tour winner — including her lone major at the 2014 Chevron Championship. She also represented the United States in six Solheim Cups as well as two Olympic Games. Per The Athletic, Thompson is expected to speak to the media at 2:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday prior to making her 18th consecutive U.S. Women's Open appearance later in the week in Lancaster, Pa. "On behalf of the LPGA, I want to thank Lexi for her incredible contributions to our Tour and to women's golf," LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said. "We wish her all the best in her next chapter, and we, along with the fans, look forward to watching her compete and celebrat…
Last season we did our weekly rookie quarterback tracker, but with only one taken in the first round of 2022, we’ve moved onto another highly coveted position. For 2022 we’ll keep track of all six first-round wide receivers and their progress throughout the year. Some of our first-round rookies are already off to the races and contributing heavily to their teams. Let’s check out this year’s group of rookie first-rounders. Inactive. Jameson Williams – Lions out with torn ACL source: Getty Images Although Williams can officially practice with the team now, he hasn’t been cleared yet. Lions head coach Dan Campbell says Williams is improving but is still “several weeks away” from participation in practice. The No. 12 overall pick is running again but still has a ways to go…
You charge the mound because you’re furious. Because you want to hurt someone. You know you’ll be ejected, fined, suspended, but it’s all worth it for brief taste of revenge. You never do it thinking that it all might go horribly wrong, and you might wind up on the receiving end of one of the most iconic beatdowns in sports history. Robin Ventura was one of the finest third baseman to ever play the game of baseball. I can’t hear his name without picturing him in a headlock, being whaled upon by a 46-year-old man. It was nothing personal. The Rangers (and Ryan in particular) and White Sox had been at each other’s throats for three years, going back to when rookie Craig Grebeck had pimped a spring-training home run off the aging, ornery flamethrower. The two teams exchanged occas…
Some people are fans of the Baltimore Ravens. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Baltimore Ravens. This 2016 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Read all the previews so far here. And buy Drew’s new book here. Your team: Baltimore Ravens Your 2015 record: 5-11 Do you know how nice it is when this team has a lousy season and I don’t have to see them in the playoffs? I had no idea life could be so pleasant. It’s like taking in fresh mountain air for the first time. The sun shines a little brighter. The birds sing with a little bit more cheer. The water tastes just a bit crisper. No one gets stabbed to death. You guys should lose half your starters to injury more often. It’s fun to watch you morph into the leisurewear New York Giants. Your co…
Some people are fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars. But many, many more people are NOT fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars. This 2013 Deadspin NFL team preview is for those in the latter group. Your team: Jacksonville Jaguars. Your 2012 record: 2-14. And you couldn't even finagle a No. 1 overall pick out of it. You people can't even suck right. Your coach: Mike Mularkey. Wait, they fired him? Oh well, that makes sense. Here's an angry letter I got from reader Adam last year after I'd made fun of Mike Mularkey, the Chan Gailey of Mike Mularkeys: Everyone here is fired up about Mularkey. We all like the pick, but maybe that's because Del Rio was such a suck-ass douche. Do a least a little bit of research man, you could have found plenty of legitimate critic…
